Process Approach
Statiscal control of work processes
I found the course useful in getting me to think about the processes we use and the controls we are currently using. It has stimulated our evaluations.

Process Approach
Statiscal control of work processes

The statistical techniques are a very powerful tool for the control of your realization processes.

OBJECTIVES
To acquire and develop skills in using techniques related to the statistical control of realization processes.

PREREQUISITE
None

OUTLINE
At the end of this training session, the participants will have the practical tools and the common-sense understanding necessary to create and interpret control charts. A control chart is a precise graphical tool showing the performance of a process.

The information derived from the charts enable employees to identify and reduce the sources of variations that cause problems in the realization of products and the delivery of services. We use the methodology developed by Dr Walter Shewhart (later spread through Dr W.E Deming), which is now largely used in industry, including service organizations.

OVERVIEW
  • Review of the basic concepts, of some definitions as found in ISO 9000, ISO 7870 and ISO 8258, as well as the process concept
  • Concepts related to measurements, indicators, gathering of data, sampling, sub-groups
  • Interpretation of process variations, as they appear on a control chart; special or assignable causes vs common causes
  • Shewhart control charts based on variables or attributes, as well as other types of charts
  • Process capability Cp and Cpk

In this course, participants will create and interpret various control charts, derived from data provided.
