Production Part Approval Process
[PPAP]
PPAP allows an organization and its customers to qualify a manufacturing process and to provide confidence that the process is able to produce according to the customer’s requirements. PPAP relates to the approval of both the initial production part as well as subsequent modified parts.
PPAP is recognized for its effectiveness; it contributes to continuous improvement, quality and durable customer-supplier relationships. It is advocated by the "Automotive Industry Action Group (AIAG) ", and is in keeping with the requirements for quality planning and design control laid out in ISO/TS 16949 as well as in other sector-specific standards based on or compatible with ISO 9001.
