Metallurgical Engineer with a Master and a Doctorate in Applied Sciences, he enjoyed a long career with Hydro-Quebec and is now President of Accademia Qualitas. Involved since 1972 with national and international standardization, he chaired a number of committees such as the Canadian Standards Association’s Committee on Quality Programs (CSA/Z299), and the Canadian National Committee on ISO (CNC/ISO) for the Standards Council of Canada (SCC). He is the immediate past-chairman of ISO/TC 176, the international committee responsible for the ISO 9000 standards. He currently chairs the Standardization Committee for the the standards ISAS BC 9001 (Radio, Television, Internet contents) and ISAS P 9001 (Press). He is also chairman of the World Quality Management Network.
At the national level, he is also a member of CSA’s Strategic Steering Committee on Business Management and Sustainability. He has been Certified lead auditor and Site examiner for the Canada Awards for Excellence. Internationally recognized speaker, his contributions have been celebrated through the presentation of an Award of Merit from the business community and Premier of Quebec in 1990, the CSA’s Award of Merit in 1998, the SCC’s Jean P. Carrière Award in 2000, and the Instituto latinoamericano de la calidad (INLAC) Award for Excellence in Leadership in 2002.
